Direct Insurance Group Plc targets growth in the facultative property reinsurance sector

Direct Insurance Group Plc (DIG), has appointed James Potter to spearhead its new Underwriting vehicle, Rokstone Underwriting.

Rokstone Underwriting is a specialist MGA, serving the needs of international (re)insurance brokers, in speciality lines of business. This development will enable Rokstone to offer many classes of business but in particular Property Reinsurance, for a wide range of occupancies from single locations through to multinational programmes, consistent with its overall strategic growth ambitions.

Rokstone’s specialist Property team will operate from its London Headquarters and are able to write general property and onshore energy business on a primary, quota-share and excess of loss basis.

Potter, joins Rokstone with more than 20 years of industry experience, most recently as Head of DIG’s Lloyd’s cover holder business. Potter is also joined by former Lloyd’s Underwriter, Paul Hallinan, previously, Class Underwriter at Talbot Syndicate.

Recruitment Drive at Direct Insurance London Market

As one of the fastest growing Lloyd’s Brokers, Direct Insurance London Market (DILM) has expanded its team to support ongoing growth plans into 2018.

Over the last six months, eight new team members have joined the business in a variety of roles bringing significant experience and also providing a platform for school and college leavers to take their first steps in a career in Insurance. In addition, DILM has invested heavily in a new training & competency program which has seen all staff, regardless of their role go through the CII Broker Assess platform and provided the option to pursue further professional qualifications.

iFarm Underwriting announced as Insurance Start-up of the Year 2017

iFarm Underwriting are delighted to announce they that have been crowned as winner of the Insurance Start-up of the Year – General at this year’s Insurance Times, Tech & Innovation Awards 2017.

There were 14 different awards to be given out this year and competition was fierce. The judges reviewed and choose the winners of each award on the 20th July 2017 and the announcement came at a prestigious award ceremony on the 14th September 2017, held at the Royal Garden Hotel in Kensington.
